…continues to blossom in Greenwich Village. Met more of my NYC buddies: Deb & Tucker, aka DMac & Tucky-Duck. I met Deb at the dog park when I lived in New York and prior to out meeting every person who recognized my gorgeous Canadian accent would say – “Are you Canadian?” when I replied “Yes!” the next question was always “Oh! Do you know that other Canadian chick who comes to the park?”. To be honest, I was so sick of hearing about this other Canadian ‘chick’ that I secretly hoped I would never meet her. The possibility of friendship based solely on our citizenship seemed silly. I know Canadians are stereotyped for being super friendly, but this was ridiculous!

The day Deb and I met we sat at the park and talked, and talked and talked for THREE HOURS ! We have been close friends ever since and both share a strong connection with our little furry friends. Tucker is the funniest little man you will ever met, with a penchant for lunging at rollerbladers, and going on ’strike’ when the walk gets too long (I have carried him through the village in sweltering heat while passerby s laughed OUT LOUD at how ridiculous we looked). He loves Deb more than anything in the world and I was thrilled to have a chance to document their connection. Terry (my yorkie) misses you ‘terri’bly Duck-Duck!

Here’s to Canadians!

Happy Canada Day!!
