Happy Monday

I am joy…
With joy, you were born
With joy, you were a baby
With joy, you cried
With joy, you laughed
With joy, you sleep
With joy, you walked
With joy, you matured
With joy, you were healed
With joy, you fought
With joy, you never gave up
With joy, you world peace
With joy, you made me

Grunge is back!
Yesterday we shot the fall campaign for TNTkids. I am LOVING the fact that grunge is back! If only I had kept my plaid shirts, ten hole cherry red docks, and long johns! I knew it was a good sign when I arrived at “Miss A” & “Miss J”s house and saw they own the exact same shoes as me (black and white check vans & grey flannel birkenstock clogs!). The shots will be up at TNTkids (368 Eglington Avenue West) very soon but in the meantime, here are some of my faves…

…you are growing into a BIG Boy. It seems like yesterday you were just brand new…

…we will miss you. Fall is on its way and “Back to School” is in full swing.
We spent a wonderful week at the cottage with family & great friends at the end of August. It seems like Emily was born yesterday, and here she is making funny faces, crawling all over the chairs and giving me that ‘impish’ smile that makes her look just like her DAD!
Happy Friday

Daddy definitely taught you this face!

A look of frustration... "I can't quite reach the screen door handle!"

Annie Lebovitz in default of a loan for $24 Million.
My WONDERFUL vacation is over and we are back in the studio today getting set for a very busy fall. As we move into the busiest time of year we are bracing ourselves for a nutty few months as well lead up to Christmas. This morning my friend Sue sent me the link below – definitely a reality check for photographers everywhere.
It is a common occurance for the ‘Artistic Soul’ to fly in the face of practicality and focus wholly on the ‘art’ of photography, while the business falls to the wayside. Looks like Annie Lebovitz is no exception. I have many of her books and quite simply ADORE her work, so I find it crushing to discover that her finances are a mess. Annie is in default of a loan for 24 million dollars and stands to lose the rights to all the photos she has ever taken.

I have my fingers and toes crossed and all the positive, happy thoughts and vibes I can muster sent her way – Annie, I really hope you get through this!
Here are my two all time favorite images – the shot of John and Yoko was taken hours before his assassination.
And here is Mick Jagger after walking off stage in 1975 – the energy in this portrait blows my mind!
… it would be divine!
These little fairies are part of the Swansea School of Dance and participated in a photo shoot in High Park just days before our summer vacation.
We are just passing through town from one vacation spot (camping in Northern Ontario, and I mean seriously NORTH as in NO cell phone reception!!!) to the next.
We are off to spend the rest of the week in Southampton, Ontario on Lake Huron. My fingers are crossed for warm weather and sunshine… may all your labor day weekends be full of family and fun.
Back in a week!

Our little woodland fairies dance around the tree!

This is truly spectacular and was shared by my friend Rebecca Wood (an AMAZING photographer)

Here are some of my favorite images from the Dry Goods shoot we had a few weeks ago in High Park. Dry Goods is a Toronto based T-shirt company that creates cool shirts for babies & kids with organic fabric and soy based inks. The shirts are available at Diaper-eez in Bloor West Village, as well as lots of other children’s boutiques in the Toronto area.
